Abstract of the Department of History
Omkaranand Sarawati Mahavidyalaya, Devprayag Tehri Garhwal was established 1984.during its establishment one of the subject allotted to the college was history, which have been an interesting, facinating, informative and popular subject for students from the viewpoint of political, social, economic, cultural and archaeological studies .at graduation leval, ancient, medieval, modern and world history as studies under history as a subject.
इतिहास की प्रासांगिकता
आधुनिक विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी एवं संचार क्रान्ति के युग में मानविकी विषय के रूप में इतिहास की प्रासांगिकता को ख्याति प्राप्त हुई है। इतिहास अतीत में राजनीतिक एवं सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्र में मानवीय गतिविधियों का अध्ययन व सीख वर्तमान एवं भविष्य के निर्धारक के लिए मील का पत्थर साबित हुआ है। नवीन शिक्षा नीति (NEP-2020) में इतिहास की प्रासांगिकता बड़ी है। एन0ई0पी0-2020 के तहत प्राचीन वेद, पुराण, उपनिषद, रामायण, महाभारत, एवं गीता के परम्परागत अध्ययन पर विशेष जोर दिया जा रहा है। इतिहास की महत्ता तब और अधिक हो जाती है, जब प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं के लिए इतिहास का ज्ञान होना अनिवार्य होता है। आई0ए0एस, पी0सी0एस, एस0एस0सी0 एवं रेलवे से लेकर समूह-‘ग’ तक की कोई भी प्रतियोगी परीक्षा इतिहास के ज्ञान के बिना अधुरी है। समस्त प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं में इतिहास से लगभग 40 फीसदी प्रश्न पूछे जाते है अतएव प्रतिस्पद्र्धात्मक परीक्षा में सफलता प्राप्त करने के लिए इतिहास का अध्ययन नितांत अवश्यक एवं अपरिहार्य।
The relevance of History
In the age of modern science, technology and communication, the relevance of history as a humanities subject has gained recognition history has proved to be a milestone in the study and learning of human activities in the political and cultural fields in the past and in determining the present and future. History has great relevance in the new education policy (NEP-2020), Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement NEP-2020. Under the new education policy-2020 special emphasis is being laid on the traditional study of ancient Vedas, Puran, Upanishad, Ramayana, Mahabharat and Gita, the interest is history increase further when knowledge of his is mandatory for competitive examination. Any competitive exam from IAS, PCS, SSC, Railway to group ‘c’ is incomplete without knowledge of history. About 40% questions of all competitive exam are based on history therefore studying history is absolutely necessory and indispensable to get success in competitive examination.
