Anti-Drug Committee

Objective: To ensure a drug- free campus by imposing a total ban on the possession or consumption or use of drugs and alcohol by students of the college, within or outside the campus/hostels.

1- 2020-21 No Events All college activities were arrested due to COVID 19 PANDEMIC as per Directorate/University guidelines.
2. 19-12-2022 Seminar A seminar was organized by the Anti-Drug Cell of the college on the topic “DRUG ABUSE – A CURSE OF LIFE” in which Dr.M.N.Nauriyal cautioned the students to stay away from drugs/alcohol.
3. 29-04-2023 Anti-Drugs Public Awareness Rally A public awareness rally was taken out by the Anti-Drug Cell, in which pilgrims coming for the CHAR DHAM YATRA were welcomed and appealed to not consume narcotics.
4. 31-05-2023 Seminar on World Tobacco Day On the occasion of WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY, a seminar was organized on the topic “WE NEED FOOD, NO TOBACCO”. The main speaker in the seminar was Dr.M.N.Nauriyal who gave detailed information about the harms caused to life by tobacco.
5. 18-7-2023  Seminar A lecture cum seminar was organized by the Anti-drug cell.Dr. Subodh  Kumar (Incharge-Dept.ofBotany) gave descriptive knowledge of many Himalayan plants of medical importance which are commonly abused like Dhatura,Poppy,Cannabis etc.
6. 25-07-2023 Anti-Drugs Local Awareness Program A meeting was held in the college in which the Principal instructed college staff and students to ensure a drug/alcohol free campus.
7. 16-09-2023 Anti-Drugs Seminar & Counseling Programme A seminar on the topic “ILL EFFECTS OF DRUGS ABUSE” was organized by the college’s Anti-Drug Cell at S.V.M. INTER COLLEGE DEVPRAYAG. In the above programme, school students were counselled to get rid of drug abuse.
8. 20-10-2023 Local Awareness Program for Drugs Abuse A field trip was done by the college’s Anti-Drug Cell to educate local people against the destructive consequences of drug abuse and consumption of intoxicants.
9. 27-11-2023 AWARENESS PROGRAMME ANTI DRUG CELL of the college under the leadership of Dr. ADIL QURESHI (CONVENOR-ANTI DRUG CELL) organized an awareness programme at Tungi village on the topic “VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN DUE TO DRUG ADDICTION”. A large number of local rural women along with village head Mr. Arvind Jiyal attended the programme.
10. 31-05-2024 SEMINAR On the occasion of WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY a seminar was organized at Sangam, Devprayag. In the above seminar the chief speaker was Dr.Subodh Kumar (Incharge-Dept. of Botany) who gave detailed information about ill effects of tobacco on mental, social and economic life of human beings.
11. 04-06-2025 SEMINAR
A seminar was organized by the College’s Anti-Drug Cell on the topic” ADDICTION-THE FIRST ENEMY OF HUMANS”. A discussion with 35 villagers was done in which the villagers were counselled against drug addiction.
12. 05-06-2025 DRUG FREE PLEDGE & TREE PLANTATION On the occasion of WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY, a campaign against drug abuse was held by tree planting in the college garden and pledge taking by college staff and students.
13. 09-06-2025 ESSAY WRITING An essay writing competition was organized by the college’s Anti-Drug Cell on the topic “DRUG ADDICTION IS A SOCIAL EVIL” in which GEETIKA CHAUHAN (B.A.-VI SEMESTER) was selected for the Best Essay writing award.
