Department of Sociology

Department Overview

The Department of Sociology was established in 2018 in our institution.  A bachelor’s degree in Sociology indoctrinates the fundamental concepts related to structure and organisation of society, including the study of social institutions,social processes and social grouping. After completing the programme, students will develop an in-depth understanding of sociological concepts. Their  knowledge related to Sociology and analytical skills will enable them to think critically about Indian society and emerging social problems and issues. Bachelor’s degree in Sociology often secures employment as social researchers, case workers, paralegals and administrators etc . 
The department organises competitions like seminars,quiz competitions, group discussions on various contemporary issues and other co-curriculum activities during the year.
