IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION/GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION
1 - The applicant desirous of seeking admission to BA/BSc/MA programme offered by the college are advised to read all the admission rules before filling up the admission form.
2 – The applicant must appear personally before the admission committee along with all the original certificates and required to attach the self-attested photocopies of the certificates.
3 – It is mandatory to attach transfer certificate /migration certificate in original.
4 –The applicant must affix his/her latest and duly attested coloured passport sized photograph in the space provided in the admission form.
5 - The applicants are required to submit their admission form in time. No form will be accepted after the expiry of the last date.
6 – The college shall have the right to deny admission or cancel the admission granted to an applicant without assigning any reason.
7 – The applicant who belongs to SC, ST, OBC /persons with disabilities shall attach the attested photocopy of the certificate issued by SDM/DM/CMO, as the case may be, in the prescribed format.
8 – The dependents of army martyr (son, daughter, wife, brother and sister), if they are eligible, will be granted one seat per subject at PG level and to all applicants at degree level.
9 – Every applicant granted admission shall deposit the prescribed fees before the expiry of the notified last date of admission. If the fees is not deposited by the last date of admission the admission granted to the defaulting student will be cancelled automatically.
ADMISSION RULES FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2019- 2020
The following eligibility criteria will be applicable to all the classes and applicants.
1 – For admission to B.Sc. course 45% marks in the qualifying examination and for admission to B.A. course 40% marks in the qualifying examination. Fractional rounding up shall not be admissible for calculating the minimum eligibility criteria, i.e., 44.9% or 39.9% shall not be treated as 45% or 40% .
2 – The applicants belonging to SC and ST will be given 5% relaxation in admission to degree and PG courses.
3 – The candidates of SC, ST, and OBC will get reservation according to the policy laid down by UttarakhandGO No 1144/ karmic-2- 2001 .53(1) 2001 which is as under.
SC - 19%, ST- 04%, OBC- 14%.Apart from these categories and general category applicants will get horizontal reservation in following category: woman 30%, Ex-army personnel 5%, divyang 4%, and dependents of freedom fighters 2%. The reservation will only be for applicants from Uttarakhand.
4 – 90% seats will be reserved for UK state applicants, 10% seats will be open for applicants outside UK state provided they are eligible in merit index.
5 – The applicants with compartment/ supplementary in 10+2 will also be considered for admission if the results are declared before the last date, provided they have submitted their forms till due dates.
6 – The students who have passed their intermediate exam (10+2) from national open university are eligible for admission to first semester, provided they have passed it will five subject and there is a gap of two years after tenth class.
7 - Admission to Degree and PG classes will only be on seats fixed for the programme by the university.
8 – Regular students will attach character certificate from the principal of previous institution and private applicants will attach character certificate from any gazetted officer/MP/MLA.
9 – In compliance with the ruling of Supreme Court and order of government of India the applicants of B.A. I Sem. and BSc. II Sem will study environment science in addition to their other three subjects.
10 – Applicants who might have been detained or have failed in a class or might be dropouts shall not be granted regular admission in that class. However, they shall be permitted to appear at the semester examination for the class concerned as Ex-student. The expression dropout means students, who might have attended their classes regularly, have filled the exam form but may not have been able to appear for the semester examination on account of a valid reason.
11 – Failed students of BA/BSc first semester with medical or other valid reason can only be given one chance to get admission after faculty change.
12 – Students may avail the facility of studying as a regular student for a maximum of six years at the undergraduate level and for four years at the postgraduate level.
13 – Applicants who have been convicted by a court of law or have been expelled by the proctorial board or who have been punished for adopting unfair means in an examination shall not be granted admission.
14 – Subjects allotted to students will be mentioned in the identity card and fee receipt of the students.
15 – The regular student can’t take admission in another institute or take exam for another degree. If he or she does so, his exam will be cancelled by the university.
16 – Candidates outside of Uttarakhand will have to submit their police verification before admission.
Specific rules for admission in Arts & Science streams
- Every student will opt for three subjects at graduation level.
- The applicant cannot take three literatures (Hindi, Sanskrit and English) as subjects.
- The student can take only two practical subjects.
- History can’t be offered with Geography.
- Only those students can take maths who have passed the intermediate exam with maths.
- Only such students who might have passed the qualifying examination with geography or biology may opt geography as subject at the under graduation level.
As subject combination in science stream, students can take Maths, Chemistry and Physics or Zoology, Botany and Chemistry.
